Kirchhoff's first law
/ ˈkɝːkhɒfɪz ˈfɝːst ˈlɑː /
imenica
Law formulated 1845 by German physicist Gustav Kirchhoff that states that the total current entering a junction in a circuit must equal the total current leaving it. It is based on the law of conservation of electric charge: as no charge can be created or destroyed at a junction, the flow of charge (current), into and out of the junction must be the same.
