markup / mɑːrkəp /
Množina reči markup je markups.
1. Detailed stylistic instructions for typesetting something that is to be printed; manual markup is usually written on the copy (e.g. underlining words that are to be set in italics).
2. The amount added to the cost to determine the asking price.
The extra added to the direct or variable cost of producing a good to arrive at the selling price. For example, a 50% mark-up on a good with a direct cost of Ł1 would mean that the company would sell the good for Ł1.50. The mark-up has to cover indirect and overhead costs as well as profit.
